Property area calculator and PDF quote generator
Measure a real property’s service areas on a satellite map, see the result in square feet, square metres and acres at the same time, then turn it into a branded quote your customer can actually read. It is free, needs no signup, and is a standalone utility — not a feature of, or a trial of, the OrdexisOne platform.
What it is for
Quoting lawn care, landscaping, pressure washing, snow clearing or cleaning usually starts with the same question: how much ground is there? Walking a tape over a long boundary is slow and imprecise; guessing is worse. This tool lets you trace the actual working area on satellite imagery, or type a measurement you already have, and then price it.
How the area is calculated
Draw a polygon, paint a rough shape with the brush, or enter a known measurement by hand — the three can be combined in one property, and each named section keeps its own area. Drawn and painted shapes are converted from their mapped coordinates into a true surface area using a geodesic calculation over the Earth’s curvature rather than a flat pixel count, which is why a large property reads correctly and not consistently short. Overlapping shapes are combined before the total is taken, so the same ground is not counted twice.
The conversion is fixed: one square foot is 0.09290304 square metres, and one acre is 43,560 square feet. The tool shows all three figures at once so a metric customer and an imperial crew can work from the same number without anyone re-keying it.
A worked example
A measured lawn comes to 4,800 sq ft. The tool reports 4,800 sq ft, 445.93 m² and 0.1102 acres — the same area expressed three ways. If the property is priced at a rate per thousand square feet, that is 4.8 units of rate; if the quote line is a flat amount, the area is recorded on the line for the customer’s benefit.
What it does not do
- It is not a survey. Measurements come from map imagery and are estimates for planning and quoting. Property lines shown in imagery are not legal boundaries, and imagery can be out of date or taken at an angle.
- It does not measure slope. The area is the ground area as mapped. A steep bank has more true surface than its plan area, which matters for some work and not others.
- It does not verify anything with the customer. Confirm the area on site before committing to work, exactly as you would with any map-based measurement.
Your work stays in your browser
The measurement, the customer details and the whole quote are built and kept in the page. The PDF is generated on your own device. Nothing you type is submitted to us, and there is no account to create. Your work is saved to this browser’s local storage so that a reload or a phone call does not lose it — that copy stays on your device, and Start a new quote clears it.
Two things do leave your browser, because a map cannot work without them: the map tiles that draw the imagery, and the address you search for, which is sent to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim service to be turned into a location. If you would rather not search an address, skip that step and enter the measurement by hand.

Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. No account, no signup, no credit card, and no limit on how many quotes you build. It is published as a free utility for anyone working on properties.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, and the map tools are usable with a thumb. Typing a known measurement is often faster on site than drawing, and produces the same result.
Can I quote in my own currency?
Yes. The quote panel has a currency field, and the amount you enter is treated as a total for that line rather than a rate per square foot.
Will the PDF carry my branding?
Yes. Your business name, contact details and logo appear on it. The quote is addressed to your customer.
What if two of my areas overlap?
They are combined before the total, so overlapping ground is counted once. If shapes cannot be combined the page tells you, rather than quietly reporting a total you cannot trust.
